A Hub for Flavor, Family & Fun!

Experience more than just great food — our commissary is a vibrant community space where families gather, enjoy live events, and savor diverse flavors under the California sun.

  • Location: Adelanto City, CA
  • System: 780 KW Solar PV and 10 sets eHub Vast
  • Trucks: Support for 150 food trucks
  • Infrastructure:  The project include a central microgrid controller that coordinates the PV, battery, and load controls. Advanced inverters with built-in EMS functions or an external controller (PLC or software) can enforce load shifting rules and optimize battery charging. All major loads (HVAC compressors, kitchen ranges, etc.) should be on controlled circuits so the EMS can shed or cycle them if needed. Sub-metering each major area (trucks, kitchen, HVAC, etc.) will provide data to fine-tune operations and identify efficiency improvements over time. The commissary members (food truck owners)  be trained on the power usage guidelines – for example, utilize the commissary’s efficient shared kitchen rather than drawing too much power on their truck while at the yard.
  • High-Efficiency Appliances & Design: All electrical equipment should be as efficient as possible to minimize waste.
  • Thermal Management: Given the desert environment, invest in insulation and passive cooling where feasible. A well-insulated building and walk-in cooler will lower HVAC and refrigeration loads. Consider cool roof coatingsor shade structures to reduce AC needs. Additionally, using thermal storage.
  • Load Shifting: Align as many energy-intensive activities as possible with sunlight hours.
  • Demand Response and Controls: Implement a smart Energy Management System (EMS) to monitor battery state-of-charge and solar output in real time. The EMS can shed or reduce non-critical loads if the system is under stress.
